Blogging and Some Things Related
It has amazed me, one time I was counting, that I’ve been hanging around the internet for about 10 years now. In fact, I met my first very serious relationship over the internet. He actually taught me a lot of things about the internet, Photoshop and websites. Altho we didn’t end up together and I know the main reason is because that relationship was just the bridge for me to meet up with a schoolmate from 25 years ago who eventually became my husband - my ultimate relationship of all.
Ok… where was I? Oh yeah, the internet. Since I could consider myself quite a veteran already, some people have asked me about webhostings and putting up their own sites. In fact, I’d helped quite a few people putting up their own websites in the past. I guided them through getting their own domain name (that thing that comes after the “www” thing) and getting their own hosts. For the domain name, I usually point them to one of the most popular websites for that because they’ve gotten really dirt cheap. For the server, I point them to my own domain - Hostgator.
I’ve had some problems with other hostings before and they’ve really gotten expensive then. But when you compare features point by point Hostgator actually gave you more bang for the buck. And actually, more than the features and the inexpensive plans, it’s their customer service that has always made me stay with them. Whatever problem I had, it was really easy to get a hold of them and they’d be able to troubleshoot really fast. That, for me, is very important. I wouldn’t want a cheap host but get really annoyed and irritated when I talk with them (much like when you want to get a hold with a customer support person from your phone service and you get this voice-activated system that’s really so annoying!)
For now, I have about 26 bloggers on my Pansitan.net domain, with about 2 to 3 more coming up soon. And honestly, I have not had any problems with my maintenance with them as far as hosting them is concerned. Most of them hosting their blogs on Wordpress, too.
I love blogging… been blogging for almost 6 years now. There’s a lot of things you learn from fellow-bloggers and you meet a lot of really cool and interesting people. I’ve met some of my dearest friends thru this hobby. There had been so many moments in the past that a lot of bloggers’ entries had amused me, made my heart melt, made me cry even. I have to admit, blogging and the internet has always been my life and I think it always will.
When I need a recipe, I look up fellow bloggers who own food blogs. If I need to learn about health stuff, I go to bloggers who write about medicine. Want to know the newest technological gadgets out there, they also have blogs about that. Basically, everything and anything under the sun, blogs had been written about them and the internet has it. If you do a search on Google about something and the site doesn’t give you any result, that means the internet doesn’t have it. But that’s kinda rare - that doesn’t happen that often.
And now, people could actually earn from their blogs. I know of some people who were able to go on vacation outside of their countries because of what they’ve earned from their blogs. Altho, I want to say that it’s not something that “just happens”. These people really do a lot of hard work to get their blogs to what it is. They do their homework about how to improve their sites, how they should place their ads, how often they should be writing entries, and other must-do’s to get their blogs to earn money for them. So if someone tells you that putting up a blog will make you rake in those moolahs without doing anything, that’s not true.
So with all those years I’ve been on the internet, have I earned any money from it? Nope. I haven’t really rode that wagon not until just about a few months ago. Only when a dear friend of mine told me he actually was able to finance his hobbies because of it. So here I am, revving up my websites, and trying my luck with those money-making links. Hoping that one of these days, I’d get to have my heart’s desire.
Good luck to me

Wow! You are really an internet veteran!
Blogging for 6 years… that is a lot.
I hope you will earn enough money to buy the things you want.
Good luck on your new venture, Ate Sienna!
I’ve just gotten back to the blogging world, and hopefully, will find the time to stick around this time. Hehehe! (Oh, and I’m not sure if I’ve thanked you for allowing me to be part of pansitan before, but here it is, THANK YOU!)
